Hello,

I recently purchased a RV Fresh Water Tank for my ATO reservoir. I finally found the right size for my space and this is a 20gl capacity. As you can see in the picture, it does not currently have any outlets, so I will need to drill a hole to insert my ATO pump and add water. Someone just mentioned to me that I will need to install a bulkhead or some method of reinforcing the hole that I will drill as it will weaken the integrity of the tank. I will call the manufacturer Monday to confirm if this is true, but I was wondering if anyone else has run into this concern? I was planning on just drilling a 1" access hole and be done with it. Do I need to maybe glue a bulkhead or something to reinforce the hole that I drill?

I was wondering if anyone else has gone this route using a RV water reservoir and drilled it. Most come drilled already and this is the first one I found that was not drilled yet.

thanks

Example that would be fine with a 1" hole and no uni-seal. I would add a uni-seal so no sharp edges to cut wires or tubing

Hi Lapin

so to confirm, I don’t need to install a fitting other than to protect the pump wires and tubing ?

So it looks like all I need is a rubber uni-seal which is self-sealing and I should be all set.

Has anyone purchased a RV water tank for their ATO and drilled it, and used a fitting or no-fitting?
thanks
