Shifted all the torch corals to the same side. Flow is a bit more calm. Allows me to ramp up the flow a little more and it also cleared the left rock out for more sps ;)

Finally starting a YouTube channel for fun.
I don't expect anything out of it. Merely doing it as an extension of the hobby.
Rather than sticking my hands in the tank out of boredom, I can record, edit and still keep the activity involved with the tank :)

Well the little reactor decided to leak everywhere.
Went ahead and purchased the one I had intended on getting a couple months ago.
Also ordered the 3000k warm white strip lights to replace the current red and blue. Got a longer strip so I can wrap tighter.

Alright. Swapped out the lights on the reactor. A lot more coverage on it now.

Unfortunately I lost the diamond goby :(
I don’t know why, was fat and happy was watching him sift sand and rebuild his house. About 15 minutes later I walked past the tank and saw him dead :/
Didn’t want to “replace” him with another goby so I picked up a Midas Blenny instead.

Pretty killer Durasa clam added. Along with some Zoas and an odd orange mushroom. Once the others settle in I’ll try to get some solid pics.

My two slimer flags browned out like crazy. Lights were fine. Nutrients are fine. I was stumped. Then it hit me... I’very been running heavy carbon (who knows why). Removed the carbon 24 hours ago. Both slimer frags have “shed” what looked like s mucus layer and the polyps are re-emerging today.

Pic of the new clam and a pic of one of the slimer frags from a few days ago.

Tank Update

chaeto growth is slow but steady
a couple sps frags started to pale slightly, been dosing stump remover as needed and things seem to be turning around in the right direction.
Did lose 1 slimer frag and one of my Torch corals. torch was unrelated to the tank conditions. lost torch due to a polyclad flatworm issue. currently monitoring my other torch corals.

also purchased the new Aquatic Life t5-LED combo, will be installing soon. Really looking forward to this one.

Food for thought -- If you have trouble keeping nutrients up, chaeto is creating a problem.

Adding chaeto to my aquarium was one of the worst things I ever did for the reef, removing it was the best move I had made. I keep it pretty simple now, my sump has a skimmer in it. No socks, no bio balls, no chaeto. None of that stuff helped, but it all harmed -- It was way too efficient, and sucked my tank dry of all nutrients, causing pailing.
