So my BTA has finally given up the ghost. I think I fed it a bad silverside about 3 weeks ago, and it hasn't fully opened sice then. I noticed when I got home that it was starting to disintegrate. I usually would have left it alone, but I couldn't risk it poisoning the tank, so into the freezer it went. Felt horrible about it:sure:

That really sucks bro, I know how you feel, I lost my bta about 3 months ago...... Sad:(

That sucks. Was there a clown hosting it? Do you have any others?
Yeah both my clowns switched between both nems, it was sad, as it got smaller and smaller the female would just hang in the mushrooms next to it

that sucks...what makes you think it was a bad silverside that did it in?

I don't know really, gotta blame it n something I guess, I was feeding it too big of pieces, maybe a rib bone punctured it, could be my peppermint shrimp, I really don't know, my other one is doing stupendously!

Gp2 might have extra he got mine and that producer split twice on him.. maybe see if he still has one he can sell ya cheap..

Yup your nem was this ones mother! Pretty little thing! I may have a little stunner coming my way..;)

also imho I never feed my hems silversides I have heard to many stories.. mysis and krill for the win

We need you to slit the rainbow I want a bubble tip back In my tank lol all I have is this red massive haddoni and yeah lol jk in all honesty those rainbows are amazing

I never feed silversides either, krill, mysis or shrimp. Sorry for your loss. I understand how you could get attached to a spineless thing, I have cried over an octopus.:too_sad:

Haha, I would love to split it, I'm afraid to as it has found itself a sweet spot. If it goes much longer without splitting...

Thanks Lmecher! I couldn't imagine having an octopus for that reason, I would probably get too attached and they only live a short while!

Akabryannall - sorry to hear the news man. It's always tough losing something. How long did you have the BTA?

I would say about 8 months, was my first. It was very well behaved and never moved from the place I originally put it.

We try to drop it in another tank and see if it split natually. It usually works for me

Right on, may just have to try that! i wish you could just snip an arm off and it would grow a new anemone.
