I'm getting a sailfin today from a fellow reefer. I am super excited; I have been looking for one for over a year now. I just hope My Blue an Yellow will play nice. :nono:
I've got em all, no one bothers anyone. Then again, each tank is different, my tank is big enough to accomodate all of them with plenty of space. Each fish has its own personality too. You may see an initial scramble from the fish, but I think you should be ok.
I love desjardini tangs. Is the trap that he is using big enough for it to fit in? I had to pass mine on to a reefer with a much larger tank because it was starting to get to big for my 180. I put seaweed on a clip and attached to the back of the trap and had no problem catching him. He would try to shove his big body in a trap that was smaller then him to get it so when it was time to go I made a bigger one. Hope he gets caught, easily one of my favorite tangs. One day I will have a tank big enough to keep one long term.
He caught the fish and got him to me in perfect shape!!! The blue has allready gone to bed by the time I introduced the sailfin. My yellow did the tail slapping dance but did no damage to the sailfin. I woke up this morning to a shredded fish!!! I was really upset, so I put the sailfin up on my local forum for free. A local reefer with a 300 DD tank came and got him (he even gave me some cash, super nice guy!) I'm really sad it didn't work out, but I'm happy he found a good home in the end. I just hope he doesn't go after his new owners baby Black Tang...
The yellow didn't do it, it was the blue. :( That blue is soooo mean! He has drawn blood on a clownfish. :( Sometimes he like his new tank mates but after this I'm giving up, no new fish until I upgrade.
Tangs are funny fish, I got a salfin a few weeks back and my small kole tang totally wanted to kill him but my powder blue didnt care less so I had to give him up. My local LFS had a good size beautiful yellow tang that I couldn't pass up so I thought I'd give him a try hoping that he would hold his ground against what I assumed would be my aggressive kole. Well this time around the kole didn't care but the powder blue was not impressed, still have some aggression from the powder blue but the yellow holds his own. For the most part everything is ok, fish don't behave as you expect sometimes!!
