Hey everyone, I keep my salinity 35ppt. Have an older book from Dr. Burgess fish atlas. It seems very comprehensive and full of information but notice salinity recommendations are almost all 1.022. Just seemed really odd because nothing I find anywhere else suggests that low of a specific gravity. Again seems odd something so comprehensive would be that far off. Anyone know why?

That book is likely very old as I read his books over 30 years ago along with Dr Axelrod. Ive been in hobby approaching 42 years and in the 70's and 80's was 1.022-1.023 then for many years went to 1.024.
Technology allowed us to better understand the elements in natural seawater and measure more accurately and its now 1.025-1.026
