How do you deal with evaporation? During awc? I have a lid on top, but evaporation going to still happen over time.

Normal ATO is fine with an AWC, assuming the AWC adds and removes water at the same time.

Oh wait i just realized u misunderstood my question. I meant the stored saltwater in the bin, wouldnt evaporate and increase salinity in there? Not the tank im Talking about the bin

ATO = Automatic top off (with RODI water).

No, the closed bin stays unchanged in salinity. :)

I’m aware. You need not follow their directions, but that is what I meant by a high alk mix may lose alk over time.

Depends. Hours? Days? Weeks?

Higher temps, higher pH, and existing calcium carbonate deposits will speed up the process. It’s not likely to go below about 7 dKH in most cases.
