Brazilian Flameback Angelfish, Caribbean Flameback Angelfish / Centropyge Aurantonot
SCIENTIFIC NAME - Centropyge Aurantonotus
COMMON NAME - Brazilian Flameback Angelfish, Caribbean Flameback Angelfish
SIZE - 2.3" (6 cm)
MIN. AQUARIUM SIZE - 30 US Gal. (114 L)
FOODS AND FEEDING - Varied diet. Frozen preparations that contain marine algae, Spirulina algae, Mysid shrimp finely shaved shrimp. Feed at least 3 times a day if not in an established aquarium with healthy micro algae growth.
REEF COMPATIBILITY - Possibly less of a threat to stony and soft corals than some of the relatives, however, caution is advised for a reef tank.
CAPTIVE CARE - An interesting pygmy Angelfish that will spawn in the home aquarium. Once settled in can become a tyrant to more docile fish and even kill other pygmy Angelfishes in smaller tanks. A male and female or two or more females can be kept together in larger tanks (50 gal min. (189L) if introduced at the same time. Males will sometimes fight to the death. Only one male per tank should be kept.
