I wanted to share a shoutout for www.saltwateraquarium.com and their Maricultured Live Rock. I am setting up a ~300 gallon mixed reef. I purchased about 200 lbs of live rock from my LFS. It is decent enough, but is all manmade stuff that is seeded/aged in their system. I wanted to also seed it with stuff from the ocean for the extra biodiversity, critters, etc.

What I liked:
  • Fast Shipping: I ordered 40 lbs from them on Monday, and received it today (Wednesday) via FedEx.
  • Quality Packaging: There was ~20 lbs per box. Each box was super sturdy cardboard with a foam liner. The rock was double bagged in heavy plastic bags, and each individual rock was wrapped in paper to keep it moist.
  • The Rock: It looks great. I didn't take any pics during the unpacking, but the pic below from their website is very accurate to what I received. Lots of coralline coverage, various sponges, etc.
Overall I would highly recommend!
