Anyone have any experience with the Indonesian live rock saltwateraquarium.com sells? Starting a new build and was gonna mix some live with dry rock for a while.

Years ago I got some and hoped for more life than received. I highly recommend Tampa Bay saltwater's

I don’t mean to bash a vendor, but I had one experience with saltwater aquarium.com, just some Ricordea florida I was really interested in. They were a joke. Tiny, most detached in the bag, and out of five I think I had one survive. Based on that, I can’t recommend them for livestock orders.

I do believe that many here really like the, for dry goods though, so I would save your gift cards for more gear or salt or something like that.

Plus one for the rock and sand from Tampa Bay Saltwater, the stuff is awesome and comes with lots of life, and the ladies that run the show are active members here at R2R; very good people to work with.

I do know there are a couple other options for gulf rock, but TBS is my go to for that. There’s also other options for rock from other parts of the world if that’s what you’re looking for.

Thanks. Thinking if the reviews keep coming in against saltwateraquarium, I’ll order some TBS rubble to seed the dry rock and let it go in a brute for a few months while throwing in some fish food. Previously did an all dry rock and it was rough

I’ve never ordered live goods but always had a good experience on the dry goods section.

That said, I’ve heard their ORA stuff ships directly from ORA (not helpful on the rock) but yea. I’ve ordered KP rock and it had a good amount of life. Be aware that winter shipping may have less “life” than summer if I remember correctly.

It’s been years since I bought “The Package” from the founder of TBS. I was on a drilling rig in tuna fishing water in Mississippi Canon off the mouth of the Mississippi River, during July 4 fishing rodeo with $500K of prizes put on by Mississippi GulfCoast casinos. When I ordered The Package on a marisett satellite phone, at $10 minute, the owner was 2 miles from our drilling rig in 5000’ of water.
Now, I mostly deal with Gulf Live Rock. I know the diver/owner since he inherited the offshore lease permit. In his early days I bought 200 pounds every month during the summer. Once, I requested a specific centerpiece and he took an underwater picture to get my approval before collecting it.

I don't know the details of the Indonesian rock...Indonesian live ocean rock would be better if it's as fresh like I got in Thailand but it probably isn't fresh...so go with the others
