Just to see the overall waste levels in the bed, that's cleaner than what I expected.

Should I do a syphon clean instead of changing the bed out to see if the syphon helps lower phosphates, I’ve never done a syphon clean.

I honestly want to leave the choice up to you, I only deal in full complete cleanings. there are many siphon only cleaning threads to pattern out, among those are more invasions than we get / it's up to you to choose based on examples searchable and size of tank/degree of work. all we can do is offer examples and you pick the way you think is best.

you can try the other methods first and if it starts to outbreak worse, then fall back on a full cleaning

Been adding phosphate E and it’s come down from .17 to .10 in 3 days so that’s good but also my skimmer has been working like I’ve never seen it work before 2 straight days the cup has been filled with foam so that’s good as well, normally I never have that much foam in the cup.

Took out sand bed over last few weeks finishing last weekend. So far my phosphates have been .03 and nitrates haven’t gone above 15. When I cleaned out the bed found a lot of thick detritus. Hoping that was my issue with high phosphates. Figured out the same bed was at least 11 years old. I bought the entire set up from someone 11 years ago which included the sand and I have no idea how long he had that sand before me so it was at least 11 years old but obviously more since 11 years is how long I have had it.
