I am in the planning stages for a new tank (already on order). I'm going from a 32g biocube to a 60g lagoon'ish' custom tank. I'm planning on using CaribSea Special Grade Arag-alive sand since I need to do a same day swap (in order for new tank to be in same spot as current tank). I also have about 35 or so lbs of excellent live rock (covered in corals) in my current tank. I will probably add more live rock, but I want to wait a bit to do that. Should I use all Arag-alive sand, or could I mix it with regular aragonite? I will be transferring over my fish and not adding any new ones for a while, so should I be OK with my existing live rock and maybe half live sand, half regular sand? I don't plan on transferring over any of my existing sand (or should I opt to transfer over a cup or two?)

Half live and half regular should be fine, just make sure the regular sand is clean and free of additives. The live rock you transfer should help keep things stable too. I wouldn’t move any current sand over.
