Sand in Frag Tank?

Could I put sand in a frag tank or leave it BB?

The biggest problem I predict is your circulation options would be limited.It would make more sense to have sand in a taller sump were the pumps would be less likely to blow it around.You would have to ensure the return pump couldn't draw in the sand.It is nice to have a bed for frag plugs,no rack required.However ,siphoning between the corals can be time consuming.

Hmm that's true, I would think for flow I would be ok because I would have mostly low to medium flow LPS. Maybe I'll do a small scale test first
