i need some help with sand cleanup what would be best to clean it in a 20 gallon my lone hermit is an ******* and killed the other crabs but he leaves snails alone but they dont spend time in sand like he does

I agree with odd creatures, mine will disappear for a few weeks and I think it died somewhere in the tank, only to have it pop out one day like nothing happened. It will be active for a few days and then disappear again. Does a good job on the sand though.

You can see him in the middle of this pic half buried.

What kind of hermit do you have? The murderous one?

For that small a tank?, about 20 Nassarius Snails. A Fighting Conch will run out of food stuffs fast and a Sand Sifting Star also.

Nassarius Snails.
Anything other then this, your tank is too small for long term survival.

+1 on Nassarius, I love my conch, but it's 5 inches and it needs every bit of my 4 foot tank to stay happy.

a zebra tip hermit

Zebra hermits are by far the worst hermits to get. They are incredibly aggressive *******s. You'd be better off sending them to sump land. Otherwise your snails will never be safe. I lost 2 snails and a blue legged hermit to mine before I banished him.
