Since my last post, my tank has taken a complete turn around. From a good looking tank just starting to establish coralline and everything growing except my acans, now I have a major red algae bloom. I’m thinking it’s the addition of the tang and feeding seaweed sheets. Or its my lighting.
Currently, I feed a small 1/8 of a sheet everyday. Along with mysis shrimp (1/2 cube daily).
my lighting is the viparspectra at 45% intensity both blue and whites. Blues come on at 8 am, whites at 10. Whites off at 4 pm and blues at 8. I’m cutting my lighting intensity down to 40, and taking 2 hours off my schedule (blues on at 9, whites at 11, off at 3 and 7).
I also need more flow in the tank. I’ll be adding another wave maker later this week.

My red algae bloom ended in about a month. Then I had a diatom bloom, and now I have green hair algae. I think this is due to 1, my lighting upgrade, and 2, low flow. I’ve added 2 jaeboe wave makers and replaced my old circulators. My acans disappeared, I think due to my urchin picking them up and dropping them somewhere as I had seen them one day and not the next.

My GSPs are looking better, but not 100%. All my water parameters look good. I still think this is a lighting issue, possibly have my intensity too high but I did turn it down to 35%.

Mushrooms still look good. I know a lot of people have mushrooms split, but after a year I still have no new mushrooms. Their color looks great right now though.

I’ll try and post some more pictures of the tank here soon when I find the time.

So, I have a dino and GHA problem if you can’t tell from the pictures. I honestly don’t care much about the GHA, but the dino's are a problem. Going to do a 3 day blackout to see if I can get this to go away, then go to my fuge and start working on that.

I’ll update again in a week or so.

So, blackout took care of most of the dinos. There is still GHA, but I think with a good water change or two, the tank should look better.

Also, my GSP’s I was able to get a really good picture of.

Long time since my last update. My tank finally looks good. It's taken me a year and a half, but I think I got it. Corals added since last post. Pictures say it all.
