Here's a Convo prompt that has been living in my head rent free.

I remember a year or so ago, a good friend of mine asking me where I got my news from. It felt like a weirdly personal question to me, in part because I know almost all news leans one way, or the other. We've known each other forever. That shouldn't be a weird question, right?

Ask people and watch them brain glitch, it's fun. So with that being said, where do you go to get your Unbiased news?

The christian science monitor used to be a pretty good place. Unfortunately they are now doing a lot of bigger picture stuff, rather than news of the day, if that makes sense. They are still really good at not editorializing.

Edit. Yes, secular atheists can read the christian science monitor. Your phone screen doesn't just spontaneously combust in your hand.

But that's the thing, you shouldn't have to take Journalism, with a grain of salt. Journalism should be objective. Opinion can be editorialized to heck.. That's not Journalism..

Anybody got any publications, websites, Podcast recommendations where real journalists congregate?

When they look at their "news" sorce they see reinforcing information which equated to reliable information.
When they watch the "fake news" they see the opposite information which is equated to unreliable information.

It is sad but "news" is mostly editorialized these days and is not required to present a neutral position.

I cannot stand cable "news", and local news is only good for traffic and weather, IMO... too much bad stuff going on and I don't need that in my head. I prefer the "national" nightly news on the big 3 networks - they seem to give a good overview without too much spin, and I can take away a fair sense of what's going on with major issues.
