just b/c someone makes more money and can afford more, doesnt mean they are more important to access information.

if those companies had their way, it would inhibit the growth of the internet, people who aren't internet savvy would have no interest in utilizing it if they have to go back to the time of 14k modems. lol

If you l;ook at the lsit of Senators, you will find that most of the ones against net neutrality lost in the last election. This is not something to worry about with a Democratically controlled Congress. Plenty of other things to worry about but not this.

I understand your viewpoint and even agree to some extent that dems are influenced by the money as much as Republicans (I don't care for politicians of any flavor). The other half of my viewpoint that I obviously didn't explain well enough is that the addresses and links and phone numbers on that web page are for many senators that won't be in office in a month or so. Maybe an updated page (in a month) will be a little more helpful.

well, looks like its already happened to me. my tv/internet provider was Adelphia, until Comcast bought them out over the summer.

under Adelphia, i'm pretty sure we had only 1 type of internet service provided. and i had good experiences with it, very fast...

i just got a letter from comcast, announcing the new rates etc. for their services. they have broken up their internet service into different types...

Premier Hight-Speed Internet (6Mb) $59.95/month
Preferred High-Speed Internet (4Mb) $42.95/month
Basic High-Speed Internet (256k) $24.95/month


right now, i'm paying $29.95/month for what i think is the top service Adelphia offered. i have a feeling i'm about to get shafted... :(
