Every three months or so, my scoly seems to almost shed itself? At first, I thought it was self destructing or ready for a fight bc of another coral in its zip code. Now I'm not so sure what causes this but it's back to normal in a day or so. Anybody else seen this happen or know what causes it? Sometimes it looks
horrible!

I've seen one of my scolys do that every once in awhile. It goes back to normal, but I honestly do not know what it is and I wouldn't associate it with happy behavior. It doesn't last as long as you said yours does though. I would say if its happy otherwise and eating then there is nothing to be too concerned about.

I've had my tank drop to 5.9ish dkh and go all the way up to 10dkh and that's never happened to me, curious as to what it is so I can be on the lookout for it.

Thanks for the feedback folks. The first time it occurred, I had trimmed a small leather frag. So I figured it was a coral warfare thing. I usually change out carbon when it happens also, which seems to alleviate it. But the other times, it just happens (maybe 2 other times) since I've had it for 9 months or so.

It has been in my pico for the last 6 months or so. I haven't officially did a water change the last 10 days. I moved the tank across my house for some renovations, but I don't think it's associated with that. These were taken Tuesday & it bounced back on Wed night so there's that 1 day scenario again.

I've been loving some of the scoly's I've been seeing lately & wanted to add some down the road, so I just wanted to iron out why it's happening.
