I've had Scooter for just a week shy of a year.
This a.m. She wasn't her normal waiting to be fed self. She was nowhere in sight. Then I spotted her in the back corner. She finally came out to her feeding jar but didn't eat but I now see that her fins are frayed. what the heck? She was doing great last night! Nothing in the tank predator wise to do this.
Tank parameters are normal but a little high on the ALK-11.2 and Ca-480, Mag-1500 Ammonia-.0, nitrites-.0 and nitrates-.0. Ph-8.2 Sg-125 and temp 79.
All inverts are fine as are all the corals and the Fire Fish is great.
A year ago I had something similar happen to a Target Mandarin.
Could there be something in the sand bed stinging a bottom dwelling fish? Would hydroids have this effect? If it's not chemistry what else could it be?
