Sea hares are hard to keep long term.

But why would someone rent one? Is there some value it provides to the tank or is it for aesthetic purposes?

They are great algae eaters. However once they clean the tank they starve

They are great for green hair and bubble algae. But, like recess62 said, they eat all the algea, then you either have to feed them or they die and they will flow you tank
