Seachem phosguard

Has any one tryed this SEACHEM PHOSGUARD ? does it work ok, ok for fish and so on ?

I prefer a iron based media, GFO like Phosban and similar formulations. Phosguard is aluminum based and has documented issues if not used correctly and changed when it gets saturated. There are a million GFO products on the market and if you use much buying it in bulk from places like Bulk Reef Supply is the way to go.

Agree with previous post. I've read the aluminum can be bad specifically on softies.

I have used it but in small quantities over time, changing frequently. It never worked the best for me compared to gfo. My purpose for it was silicate, and for that, it worked well.

For phosphates, it's OK, but in my use, gfo is better and more forgiving. I never had a problem with my softs or stones btw.

If you decide to go with it, just rinse it really well in di water and don't fluidize it..
