Hello, i am on the hunt for Stomatella Snails. But also would like some extra info:

Can they right themselves?

What species of Stomatella are best? I know there are a few

where are they native to?

Is there anyone who sells them?

i don't believe anyone readily sells them. you would see them more available to readily in aquariums if they were. seems to just hitchhike on rocks.

I don’t know the answers to your other questions, but there is someone who sells them:

No guarantees it’s a good site (I’ve never heard of them before now), but it looks legit at least.

they seem to reproduce well in captivity. I was thinking of maybe getting a decent pop going and maybe selling a few

I have more than a few that have come in as hitchhikers - and they are either really small when they come in, and grow slow, or there is some reproduction in the tank, as I have a WIDE variety in sizes...

and having just read more about the stomatella there is one report that peppermint shrimp and 6 line make short work of them.

Apparently not all of them as I have both in tank with various sized snails -apparently reproducing

They are not particularly targeted nor spared from attacks by snail eaters. but can hide fairly well and I think they've got some tricks that make their young more suited to aquariums then others. Also peppermints don't really hunt snails if they have food already.
