Anyone have experience with sebae anemones?

Added this into the tank at the weekend, listed at the lfs as a Malu though I'm not sure whether it is a Crispa (though it does appear to have settled on the sandbed on the day of introducing it)

I'm trying to acclimate it slowly to my LEDs (Vipraspectra 165w) it's fully extended at lights out but shrinks up when the lights turn on? Is this just part of the acclimation process?

Blues 50% 11:00 - 19:00
Whites 5% 13:00 - 17:00

If it is a Crispa I'm aware it needs to regain zooxenthalle and regular feeding can help.

No3 - 5
Po4 - 0.06
Dkh - 9.6
Cal - 410
Mag - 1340
pH - 8.2

Thats what my Crispa looked like when I got it about ten years ago. Pure white with blue tips. I have it under 300w Viparspectra on the bottom of a 30" tank. It has since turned a greenish brown keeping the blue tips. My lights are 80 white and 100 blue. The white is from bleaching but if it's attached it should regain a healthy color over the next few weeks. No need to feed it except for what it catches from feeding the fish.

Looks like you were the perfect person to stumble across my post! Wow, sounds like you've had a lot of success keeping it your system for 10 years!! I would love to see a picture.

I'll slowly bump my lights back up over the next week or two then. Does yours retract at all when the lights come on?

I wouldn't turn the lights up yet. Wait until it settles and no longer retracts. They can take a lot of light but need to get used to it first.

OMG!! That is gorgeous. Are those Ocellaris hosting in it?

Okay, sounds like a plan. I'll leave the lights as they are for the time being. Thanks for your advice... you clearly know what you're talking about!!

I have videos of them laying eggs on a rock under the nem and the male fertilizing them but I'm not sure how to post it. They breed about every 2 weeks.

What a shame! Looks like you'd have to upload it somewhere else and then use the link button in the forum.
