Anyone have any experience with the seneye par meter nowadays? Seems like everyone uses apogee, but if it's within ~30 of the apogee, it seems like the better purchase is the seneye since it's cheaper. I have a seneye, but gotta set it up somehow. Anyone got any creative ideas?

Everything depends on which model and features really
"Old" Apogee (needs computer, win or Mac OS) is $234.
Advantages.. cosine corrected, software may be more flexible
Disadvantages: Not a "perfect" sensitivity i.e high end cutoff is around 660nm

Seneye Reef $219
Major advantages: Has Ammonium and nitrate cards (bit pricey) temp sense, phone/email alerts.
Disadvantages: Directional readings (no cosine correction), not a perfect sensitivity but about the same as above.
May still need a Win computer

Both the above have optional ($) "things" like data loggers.

Newest is ITC PARwise $299
Includes PAR, DLI, and spectrum plot, extended sensitivity, cosine corrected
Disadvantage:More expensive, new product therefore limited track record.

Point of the above is each has features and usability functions the value of which depends on the users needs.
The list above is not all inclusive either.

Also the Apogee line is more expansive from hand held meters and/or better sensitivity curves and extended nm ranges.

Appreciate the response, I haven't looked into the ITC one which is probably worth looking into.

So I just picked up the seneye this weekend. I was curious how it would perform and so far I'm fairly impressed. I don't have an apogee to compare par readings, but it's responsive and the data it's producing seems reasonable compared to what I was expecting.

If you're curious I will update you further as I break it in more.
