Wait, don't moderate this thread or ban me. I swear it's about my tank.

I just noticed the bright orange thing in the middle of my discosoma (I think) colony. I've never seen the discosoma that color before, so I think it must be a rock nem.

Since there are no rock nems near by, I think that means my rock nems must have reproduced sexually, no? (Told you the title was legit). The second pic is a rock nem about 9in away that could be mom...dad... what's a rock nem's preferred pronouns again?

It's amazing how much brighter the babies are.

That definitely looks like a RFA, in a gaggle of Rhodactis mushrooms.
And what of my inference about sexual reproduction? I have 12 or so RFAs my LSF sold me cheap when they had a new batch on order and no room, so that seems like a good speed dating pool. Something actually breeding in my tank seems terrible cool to me. (My wife thinks I'm silly though, and she's a science teacher.)

So why Rhodactis?

Discosoma = smooth or little circular bumps

Rhodactis = all wavy and rough

Ricordea = "bubbles" (that's one in the
bottom of the second pic of the OP)

Absolutely possible your RFA had a spawning event and you got some to settle. The cooler thing about these is each one is going to be different than the parents. Feel free to school. Your teacher wife.

Not really a good description. One of the first telltale signs to me is the skirt. See all those little wavy dangly fingers. Usually indicative of a rhodi.
