So far my entire reefing journey has been centered around my ancient Red Sea 130D. The brand new protein skimmer I bought specifically for the 130D today creates so many microbubbles that it does more harm than good. The filtration design clogs easily, the return pumps aren't consistent, and the hood fans are loud. Since the electronics provide little help, I have mostly survived by completing frequent water changes. The tank belongs in a museum, not in my living room.
So now I get the joy of shopping for a new tank. I've found a very helpful store owner who will take care for all my critters while I restart the cycling process. My favorite contender as of now is the Waterbox Frag 45.2. I've always loved the look of shallow tanks. The con of Waterbox is the several thousand dollar price tag. I'm sure the idea of a shallow tank is not uniquely found at Waterbox. I'm looking for a 40 or so gallon shallow tank. Preferably with a sump. Any suggestions?
