I 100% agree.
My wife and I are avid divers, she is a huge shark conservationist. We seek out guides that do not chum while traveling.
We haven't been cage diving, but regular scuba with many species of sharks.

We have a planned trip to South Africa specifically for white sharks.

You can always find a charter that is more into the conservation or photography that don't chum in most places.

Absolutely agree. I have been diving and encountered sharks in the Caribbean, Atlantic, North Pacific and South Pacific Oceans. Nothing like watching them in the wild, in their natural environment and enticed by only their instincts. If you are a fan of Michael Crichton's writing, read his book about his experiences after he graduated medical school (yes he got an MD degree...read about that too in the book)...Travels (1988), he does the ultimate totally natural shark dive in Rangiroa...still on my bucket list. I came within a few hundred miles once, but had to settle for diving with lemon sharks in Bora Bora instead.
