SCIENTIFIC NAME - Myrichthys breviceps

COMMON NAME - Sharptail Snake Eel

SIZE - 3.4 ft. (102 cm)

MIN. AQUARIUM SIZE - 180 US Gal. ( 681 L)

FOODS AND FEEDING - Live foods, grass shrimp, fiddler crabs to induce a feeding response, then may accept shrimp, squid, marine fish flesh, crustaceans, scallops, all from a feeding stick. Feed 2-3 times a week to satiation

REEF COMPATIBILITY - May eat ornamental crustaceans and small fishes

CAPTIVE CARE – This species requires an open sandy bottom and can be kept with larger fishes and other eels. More than one can be kept in the same tank, but must be the 1st eel introduced in a community tank. Other tankmates can be introduced only after the snake eel is feeding well.
