Here is my IM 100 EXT Mixed reef. Upgrade from a IM 30 EXT.

The tank has been running for a year now but I figured I would share a little of the build and where the tank is today. Recently I had issues with what I believe to be bad bacteria and lost some SPS, That seems to have cleared up as SPS that survived and newly added pieces are doing well now.

Equipment
  • Tank: IM 100 EXT Complete Reef system with stand, RFS39 sump, and plumbing.
  • Rock: Display - custom HNSA style aquascape with 60 lbs Marcos rock. Sump - 20-30 lbs 5 year old Marcos rock from previous tank.
  • substrate: 60 pounds CaribSea special grade sand
  • Return Pump: MightyJet XL
  • Flow: AI orbit 4, 2 AI Nero 3s, and 1 AI Nero 7
  • Lighting: 2 EcoTech Radion XR15 Pro G6s, 1 39 inch AI Coral Grow, and 1 21 inch AI Coral Grow.
  • Protein Skimmer: Red Sea RSK 300 Reefer Pulling outside air through C02 scrubber
  • Heating: IM Helio 700 watt (2 350 watt) PTC Smart Heater
  • Controller: Hydros x3
  • Dosing: Redsea ReefDose 2, EcoTech Versa
  • UV: Aqua Ultraviolet Advantage 2000+
  • Supplements: Kalkwasser and All-For-Reef
Livestock
  • Pair of Spotcinctus clownfish
  • Cleaner wrasse
  • Klausewitz Blenny
  • Longnose hawkfish
  • Melanurus wrasse
  • Orange-Back Fairy Wrasse
  • Tomin Tang
  • Yellow Tang
  • Vanderbilt Chromis
Aquascape
This is 3 separate pieces

Your tank is doing great, for only having it a year!

Thank you, It has gone pretty well aside from the recent issue where SPS started dying off. It even got to a point where I would put a frag in and hours later RTN would occur. Turning the UV back on seems to have help so far.

This occurred in about 2 hours of placing it in the tank.

I recently moved the 21" Blade Grow from my 30 gallon and but it on the back to provide more fill light over the back center where acros are mounted. This allowed me to move all the lights forward which significantly reduced shadowing.

Added a few more frags from the POTO 10th anniversary sale and also won one of their lens filter kits.

I have the same tank. And am very curious about how you have your dosing equipment attached. What is the board that everything is on?

Also do you have any photos from the side into you tank showing the aqua scaping?

I have the 75 ext and noticed the same thing. Wish i would have thought of that. I have a cabinet on each side. One holds ato and other holds electrical and dosing.
Looks like I see a mod in my future.

@Srfnhooker I actually downsized to this tank. I really don't care for the oversized sump. My husband liked this tank. So I compromised. He will be helping me with getting everything to fit nicely. Or I will be upgrading again myself. :face-with-hand-over-mouth: :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:

Your tank looks really nice so far.

Thanks - it's been going for about 14 months. Still settling in.
I agree on the sump. I have about 2" clear on either side. My Uv barely fits between the sump and the side door. That back panel made by the OP would be a big help.

The board is a pvc type sheet I got at Homedepot. It was 1/4" 2x4 sheet. I just used a 4 self taping metal screws, 1 in each corner to hold it up.

Love that Aqua scaping. Planning on doing something very similar to it.

Thanks for the inspiration.

Looks fantastic dude. I just hesitantly ordered the same tank but I was worried about not having any room for equipment. Your mounting to the back like that looks really good. Think you could share more on that? Do you like it? I'm probably going to copy you.
