Shell? Sea scallops? I dont know..

Hey guys,

I have my tank set up for about 8 months now and just about a few days ago i found out this little '' shell '' iny tank and it's always in the same area but it does move sometimes...

I am just wondering what it is exactly and is it gonna grow? I'm quite excited about it!!

It looks like a scallop shell.Unfortunately it looks empty.I have had a live one in my tank for years.
