Shortcake Color Loss.

Hey y'all, I ha e a Strawberry shortcake Acro and it is loosing it's greens and its red is turning pale. This is my 3rd shortcake and every time it does this. Any tips? She is getting about 260 par.

Is your tank growing coraline algae well? Any pics of your tank? Hows the flow? What are you feeding the coral? How long have you had it and what were the water parameter did it come from,

Sounds hungry to me, or if you recently changed bulbs is another cause. Pests can also cause paleness. Are all your other acros normal looking?

My tank is a heavy SPS tank and all my acros are doing well. I have recently changed the intensity of my bulbs but my color problem has lasted for quite some time now. I dipped everything and no pests came off. My tank is growing corral one very well and I have is say moderate flow from an MP 10. I'm feeding ME Amino/oysterfeast/reefchili every day.

My first thought would be the intensity change, I have had one or two acros pale out from a lightning change, when all others did not mind. It can take them forever to regain color...so if all your other stuff is healthy, I would not panic. Also, what size tank do you have for the mp10. When acros grow, they start needing a tonnnnn of flow. My 90 gal. Now has two mp 10s at full setting on reef crest and a gyre 150 at 65%. You might just be at that point where they have grown so much, they are no longer getting enough flow in certain areas.

Too clean water or too much light (often due to shocked) can cause this too.
