Will it take out certain things that the coral need to survive and thrive. That’s what I heard

There is an outside possibility it may remove some, I never thought it did. Do you feed the Coral? If you feed them, phytoplankton, reef snow etc. they will be fine, just turn the UV off for about 1/2 hour or so when feeding.
