I ended up getting neonitro as well to get overnight shipping. Ill dose it and up feedings until i see a good nitrate level, then ill back off the dosing. What kind of time frame am i looking at for the rocks to finish absorbing phosphate?
They will absorb until they hit equilibrium with the water. I don't know how much it will take to reach that point. It depends on the volume and the current phosphate level in the rock/sand and difference between water concentration. I would calculate the dose to go to the level you want to target and test it in a few days. Calculate the new dose needed to hit your target level again and then repeat.

Heres the fts.

Sooo i got a used hannah ulr phosphate checker. It showed 0.15. I redid the salifert test and got a value of .05 using the higher sensitivity procedure. Soooo which do i believe?

Any inverts or hermit crabs? I have a leather frag that keeps on closing because I have a blue legged hermit that always wants to do squats and sit on it.

Lots of snails, one urchin and one ruby mithrax crab. no hermits
Yeah maybe it's the low nutrients then... My tank looks pretty bare like yours and I have yet to buy my hanna checkers for NO2 & Phosphate yet.

I assume they're very low because my fish has been out in QT for the last month, plus I don't dose or feed heavy.

I just got a hammer frag as well, and I'll let you know if it starts receding like yours. So far it looks healthy.

Its wierd to me that my other hammers and torch are happy as can be. Idk must just be a picky coral. I got the alk test kit and it was low. I went ahead and got tropic marin all for reef and dosed for the first time today. Ill see if that makes a difference. I also did a water change. Ill see how it looks tomorrow. I would be surprised if it makes it at this point
