Update here - I added 20ml of ESV B-Ionic Alkalinity component to my 40 gallons of Tropic Marin Pro Reef salt that had been mixed for about 24 hours. I let the ESV additive mix for about 2 hours and did not see any residue, so I preformed my water change. No ill effects to speak of. Will update the thread if I experience different results as I continue.
