Should you clean sump?

Hey so I've installed my first sump in October everything is great just wondering if you should clean it if so how and how often?

I siphon the detritus out of my sump every saturday morning, but most of my friends make fun of me when they hear that......until they see the results.

I agree keep it spotless.. since I removed my refugium from my sump and added a uplow scrubber my tank is spotless and the sump is super easy to clean

So I have a refugium and its a bit small full of rocks would it be best to put a CUC in or?

Mine is bare bottom and I vacuum it every water change.
