Show me your sand bed please :)

My sand looks terrible compared to others. In my LFS the sand is much finer and smooth (though I'm not sure if thats a good thing). Mine is Caribsea Ocean Direct Original Grade.

Just want to look at your sand bed...

I agree, yours looks fantastic. I actually have about 180 lbs of that sand ready to go into my new setup. I like the different sizes and shells that you can see in it. I'm excited to get mine in the tank and I hope it looks as nice as yours.

If you want it clean all the time, use a turkey baster and blow off dirt weekly. I can’t anymore coz I have corals all over the sandbed

I have a mix of pretty chunky crushed coral and regular argonite from caribsea. I bought back my old setup and they switched to a thick crushed coral. I was worried it would trap nitrate like gravel so I mixed in regular argonite. I have several snails that keep it clean and stirred up

It's only a month old. Yeah I expect things will go uglier in the future.

Mine is 7 months old. At one point I got home from vacation and the sand looked horrible after a cyano outbreak. That eventually cleared itself up, and then I credit this guy for constantly keeping my sand bed clean:

Yep! It is a Sleeper Banded Goby. I wasn't sure what to expect, but this guy does serious work taking mouthfuls of sand and filtering it.
