Shrimp question

Can/will a cleaner shrimp or pistol shrimp kill a harlequin? I have a star fish population that I have been trying to kill off. I have added 2 different harlequins at 2 different times only to have them disappear never to be seen again.

There are currently no fish in the tank. I have snails and blue leg and scarlet leg hermits.

I follow all acclimation protocols - drip acclimate, float, the whole nine yards.

I hope someone can shed some light on my issue.

I am now down $100 and for no apparent reason.

They both can and will kill other shrimp species. Keeping them well-fed by offering raw seafood via a feeding tube or stick once or twice per week will help curb their aggression.
