The trick is to shoot top down with a porthole on the waters surface to negate glow from the lights.
Also get yourself a clip on gel filter kit for your phone or camera
It helps show true colors that an unfiltered lens cant. Especially with blue lights.

Heres a top down shot of one of my jawbreaker colonies with no filter or tricks. Just not through the glass, top down shot.
