so i have this pump i was going to use it for mixing saltwater ill be mixing about 20 gallons at a time i was just wondering though it comes with a lil sponge filter should i leave it in or take it out? Wasnt sure if it would help or impede on the mixing process

You'll want to leave it in as when mixing salt. If it's a good salt mix, the stuff will dissolve slowly against the sponge, and shouldn't stay behind, but without the prefilter, it will allow the impeller to strike it, which over time will damage the impeller.
