Hey all:

I'm looking to setup AWC with a DOS pump for my tank and I'm wondering about the water storage. How do you guys handle the mixing/storing of the salt water? I have a 70 gallon mixing station which I will be using. Would I mix up a batch and then use it? Does it need periodic mixing or will it stay usable?

I'm wondering if I should take directly from the mixing station or have a separate AWC saltwater container?

Thoughts?

You can go either route but there should be no reason why you can't draw your awc from the mixing container.
Unless you've noticed an issue with your salt mix precipitating as it sat just mix up your saltwater, draw from that container until it's low, then repeat as necessary.
I mix up fifty gallons at a time and leave it sit while I take what's needed for water changes then mix to refill and repeat. Water sits about 4-6 weeks till I mix up more.
