Last night my fiancee and I redid the rockscape in our tank and today our two spot goby seems to just be sitting there.. he still sifts, and he still moves when something comes near him but he doesn't seem to want to move. Hes just sitting in the current and letting himself get kinda pushed over against a rock.. is he sick? Hes never really done this before..

He could be just getting used to the new layout. How long have you had the goby for? If he’s still eating then that’s a good sign

Welcome to reef2reef!

Thank you! And we've had him for almost 6 months. Hes always eaten with the rest of the fish. He may just be getting used to it. Hes already dug a hole under a rock and that where he hid when I went to touch him with the feeding stick.. (we have a ghost ribbon eel)

I'm just hoping hes doing okay, I worry about them lol

I wouldn’t poke him that might stress him more. I had a purple tang that I thought was gonna die when moving tanks. The fish would eat, wouldn’t move and was just sitting on the top of the tank. I let him sit there as much as I wanted to take him out I didn’t wanna stress him anymore. The next day he was swimming around but wasn’t eating. Day after I saw him eating algae off the rocks and now 5 days later he’s back to normal. I would wait and keep an eye on him and see what happens. If he’s eating then that’s a good sign

Back to sifting and picking with his mandarin friend :)
