Hello,

Our clownfish is sick.
Does anybody know what is causing the lumpy white band in the photo below?

How did you treat it?

Thanks!

For starters, this fish is quite thin and will eventually weaken. As for the band, this is showing up more frequent with wild caught clowns and its suspected that it may be hereditary and has the characteristics of Uronema. In some instances, the fish improves while some perish.
The first chance at survival will be getting this fish to gain weight.
Not sure what foods you are feeding but be sure to include in its diet:
Spirulina brine shrimp
LTS Fish Frenzy
small plankton
Mysis Shrimp
TDO Pellets

Welcome to Reef2Reef!

Is the clownfish still eating?
Are there other animals in with it? How are they?

As said, the fish looks pretty thin.
The pockmarks on its head may be head and lateral line erosion (HLLE). That is rare to see in clownfish, but they can get it. It isn’t fatal though.
