I quarantined(observational) the tiny fish for a month and he was great! Ate alot stayed in open. Two weeks ago he went into dt, found a hole in lr and has sat since.

Comes out to eat quick and back to hiding past week and was looking good yesterday. Today I was so excited to see him exploring. Except he looks like crap, did he hurt himself diving into to lr?

This is either sand dust or injury on the fish but suspecting dust. Attempt to net it and see if any of this stuff flies off the fish. Please provide closer pic if possible

He doesn't seem to be breathing hard but he's just laying where I took the picture now. Also looks like the dorsal fin is torn?

It has the appearance of ich but to get this overnite would be bizzare
Perhaps I never noticed during my excitement when he made an appearance to eat. He died shortly after my last post. Dots not coming off.

Looks more like itch then velvet now with the sand off him. Countable amount of dots now.

That’s marine ich. Are there any other fish in the tank, they are at risk of catching the same disease.

Thanks for the ID. I do have other more established fish. Although now I'm worried about adding a court jester goby I'm about to qt.

It's generally not a good idea to add a fish to a tank that has a suspected disease going on - better to wait and see how things pan out, else you might have to pull all of the fish for treatment.

He looks pretty scuffed up. Beautiful fish tho.
