I recently picked up a Silica LR checker to help with silicate dosing. The last couple times I've tried using the checker, it just shuts off when I get to the last step when you are supposed to hold the button for the timer.
I've had this happen once or twice with my Nitrate and Phosphate checker but for those you can quickly pop in a unreacted sample and zero it out again. With the silicate checker, you have to go through multiple steps and two reagants BEFORE you can even zero the checker. This is incredibly frustrating because you literally have to start all over again and waste a whole set of reagants. Any ideas? Could I be doing something wrong or could the checker be faulty?
