I sprung another leak on a fuge. I'm tired of dealing with the company so I want to fix it myself. I read on here a while back that ge2 was ok as long as it was allowed to cure the whole way. Is this true or should I be removing it?

This is what I use.

make sure it doesn't have mold resistant agent in it. I have used it on 2 different aquarium with no issues. I would also make sure to east at least 24 hrs to cure.

This all the way! It's all i have ever used! I did my 40b, my 125. But remember to let it cute fully! I go even longer id say around 2 to 5 days of curing..

Thanks everyone. The ACE by me I could only find the Silicone II with the mold inhibitors. I guess I'll scrape it off and find one of those somewhere.

Momentive can also be found on McMaster Carr's website for 11 bucks a tube, best tank adhesive imo. RTV 103 is black and RTV 108 is clear.

Does the Momentive require 24 hours to cure as well? I am looking to change my sump baffles around and don't have another sump to put in it's place while I wait for curing.

Is this baffle structural? If it is not, then don't worry about using RTV as a full cure could take a week. RTV would be used more in the case of building a 100+ gallon tank. Going to be using it on my 125 gallon cube build this week.

If the baffle is there just to separate compartments for a sump, then the GE silicone's quick cure should suffice. Do note that even GE's full cure time is 48 hours

ALL silicones require at least a full week to cure, sometimes longer depending on bead size. Cure times on the labels are not specific to our purpose.
