Simple affordable sump

Ok so I've had a tank for a few months now and seems to be fully cycled. No spikes or major changes in water parameters and nothing unappealing happening in the tank. It is a basic 20 gallon with 4 small fish, a cleaning crew, a few hardy coral frags, and a little over 20 lbs of live rock with a good amount of coralline algae on them. I recently changed my tank stand that now has a covering over the front so I want to think about ditching the HOB equipment and make a small (10ish gallon) sump. I don't mind a couple pipes going over the rim of the tank. I really wanna be able to get rid of the HOB skimmer and get it in a sump. Any ideas or blueprints in mind to make a simple, affordable, and effective sump??

Sure, just throw in a glass tank that will fit under your stand and your done. You don't have to have anything fancy. Mine was just a xmas tree box from walmart.

buy as big of a tank that you can fit, make sure whatever equipment you want fits, add baffles. simple and cheap

Ok yeah I was planning on just buying a slightly smaller tank then my actual tank and using it. I guess I should have been a little more clear. I pretty much only know what a sump looks like once it's complete. I do not know what is required to make it work, how to do the plumbing, and what goes where kinda stuff. Could u give me like an idea of how I would construct a working and running sump?
