I've done a lot of looking for this answer and can't seem to find one that definitively satisfies my question. I'm getting ready to set up some HYDROS modules into a collective. Do I HAVE to set them up in a "chain" or can I branch two modules off an XP8 since it has it's own power source? In the following pics, I'd Like to set it up like the first one (mostly for my own OCD reasons). Can I do this or am I required to "chain" it like the second pic?

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Left is an X4 - Top Right is an XP8 - Bottom Right is a Kraken - "X" indicates a Bus Terminator:

It does not matter the order with just 3 controllers in the collective and the XP8 and Kraken are both power givers and have their own power supply. If it was a much larger collective you would want to spread out your power givers in the chain. Also you will need 2 terminators for the 2 open command bus ports on each end.

Thanks. The 2 terminators are on the way with the controllers
