The subject line says it

I thought I saw my six line eating this coral ( Duncan ?) last week, been gone over the holiday
Came back today to this,
Do they in fact munch on Corals or could it be something else. It’s the only one that’s affected
The mushroom is much lower so it’s not it

Thanks

I have a few species including a mystery wrasse that is very similar to a 6-line and I've never seen it have the slightest interest in eating coral. however, a lot of the nuisance pests that your six-line is fond of might be in your coral and the fish is going after them which looks a lot like its eating it.

I doubt it. Never heard about this, mine does not touch any coral. Also I doubt it can eat so much so soon. This is likely due to something else

All Corals get dipped in coral RX and in Ruby Reef hydroplex, I know I have worms in the tank and that Coral was one of the very first coral in my tank and all of a sudden in about weeks actually hmm
Oh well I moved it maybe it was the mushroom doing it

Dips work decently on live pests, but dips do not kill the eggs of those pests if they are present.

Mushrooms put out their mesenterials on anything they touch.

I thought my 6 line was eating the birds nest too until I magnified the area with my phone - I can get in really close at full zoom (for example my forum avatar is a photo of a hydroid at full zoom). To my great relief, turns out he/she was only eating tiny pods. They must have some amazing vision.
