WHICH SKIMMER DO YOU LIKE BEST?

  • Tunze Comline Doc Smikker 9004
  • CAD Lights PLS-50 Elite II Nano Pipeless Protein Skimmer
Or do you prefer a different skimmer?

Also, please let me know where I can purchase these? I see the Tunze on Amazon, but I’m having trouble finding the CAD lights.

Thanks for your help!

I used the Tunze 9004 on my JBJ 45 for many years. It's a quality product and it fits.

Between the two skimmers—the Tunze Comline DOC 9004 and the CAD Lights PLS-50 Elite II—both are solid options, but I’d lean toward the Tunze for a few reasons.

It’s super quiet, easy to use, and does a great job for tanks up to around 65 gallons. It’s also widely available—Amazon or through us, we have it in stock.

The CAD Lights PLS-50 Elite II is a cool little skimmer with a unique, space-saving design and great performance for its size. But availability seems to be an issue right now. I couldn’t find it in stock anywhere, though it used to be sold through places like Mode Aquariums and Dream Fish Tanks.

So unless you’re set on that pipeless design, I’d go with the Tunze—it’s reliable, easy to find, and does the job well.

We sell them here if you need it:
