I have a barebottom 120 mixed reef with a 40 gallon sump. I have a pretty light bio load right now but I want to start packing this sucker with some nice fish. I have a swc 160 cone now and it's keeping up pretty well. Nitrates never rise above 2-3 ppm and I feed every day. But I don't see this skimmer keeping up with a larger bioload. I'm more concentrated on SPS so I try to maintain lower nutrient levels. Thinking about a SRO 3000 reef octopus skimmer as an upgrade but didn't know of there was a better skimmer at near the same price range or lower.
