Skimmer water level ?

I'm running a bubble magus curve 5 in 9 inchces of water and am getting a pretty wet skim. I'm really looking for something much thicker and dense with crap (no pun intended).

What water level is everyone running their skimmer in? And does that effect the skimmate produced or should I continue to try to dial in the airflow.

Running the same skimmer in just under 8" of water. Adjust the airflow to modify for a thicker skimmate. Pop open the lid of the collection cup and set the bubble line 1/4" to 1/2" below the top of the neck.
